"In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
My colleagues in the educational field, My daughters and sons, the students,
O guardians of the word, heirs of the message, and builders of a bright tomorrow,
Today, we stand in the presence of the 'Flag'—the symbol of our sovereignty, the story of our struggle, and the declaration of an identity written by our forefathers with blood and sweat. We honor it so it remains flying high in the heart of the sky, reaching for the clouds in pride and mirroring the stars in stature.
Our celebration of Flag Day within the Ministry of Education and in the courtyards of our schools is a renewal of our pledge: that our schools remain cradles of loyalty and beacons of knowledge. For the Flag we raise on the masts is the same 'Knowledge' we plant in your hearts; the value of the banner lies in an enlightened mind that understands its significance, a strong hand that carries it, and a heart that beats with love for it and for Jordan.
Dear Colleagues and Students,
The fluttering of this flag in your schoolyards is the restless pulse of the State and a trust upon each of your shoulders. Its Red represents the blood of the martyrs who watered the soil of Jerusalem and Al-Karameh; its Green symbolizes the growth of the land and the resolve of its youth; its White stands for the purity of our intentions and the peace of our message; and its Black embodies the prestige of our history and the depth of our roots. As for the Seven-Pointed Star, it represents the Al-Fatiha (The Opening of the Quran), guarding this sanctuary under God’s care, and through the wisdom of our leader, His Majesty King Abdullah II, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah.
Let us make this day an opportunity for reflection and action; for the flag is only preserved through academic excellence, and the nation’s status is only raised through creativity and sincerity. Be worthy of this banner—in knowledge, in manners, and in belonging.
Happy Flag Day to our Nation, our Leader, and our loyal people.
Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research Professor Dr. Azmi Mahafzah"
