Ministry of Defense spokesperson Saud Abdulaziz Al-Attwan said the attacks targeted a government facility in northern Kuwait as well as civilian vehicles belonging to a private company on Bubiyan Island. The incidents caused material damage after debris from intercepted drones fell on the sites, but no casualties were reported.
Al-Attwan said the armed forces successfully engaged and destroyed the hostile drones, stressing that the military continues to carry out its duties and is taking all necessary measures to safeguard Kuwait's sovereignty, security, and stability, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Earlier on Saturday, the Kuwaiti military said its air defense systems had intercepted hostile drone attacks, adding that the explosion sounds heard in several areas were the result of ongoing interception operations.
The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said the interceptions were carried out in response to what it described as "Iranian aggression." It urged citizens and residents to follow all security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities until the situation stabilizes.
