The European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan discussed with the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim at the Swiss Embassy in the Kingdom, Hanna Fassnacht, ways to strengthen trade and economic relations between Jordan and Switzerland and expand prospects for cooperation in business and investment.

This came during a meeting held at the Chamber's headquarters, chaired by Board Member and Secretary Anwar Al-Obeidat, in the presence of Treasurer Bilal Shawar and a number of board members.
According to a statement issued by the Chamber on Saturday, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on key economic issues of mutual interest, reviewing available opportunities to enhance trade and investment relations between the two countries in a manner that serves shared economic interests and supports trade growth.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen economic cooperation between Jordan and Switzerland and developing partnerships between private sector institutions to encourage investment and open new horizons for cooperation across various economic sectors.
The meeting also featured a constructive dialogue between the Chargé d'Affaires and Chamber members, addressing key opportunities and challenges facing the business community, as well as the importance of sustained coordination and cooperation between the public and private sectors to support sustainable economic growth and reinforce bilateral economic ties.
Both parties highlighted the significance of the European Economic Conference held in Jordan as a strategic platform to foster dialogue between the Jordanian and European business communities, review investment opportunities offered by the Kingdom, and build new partnerships between Jordanian and European companies—thereby helping to attract more European investment, boost trade exchange, and solidify Jordan's position as a regional hub for business and investment.
Members of the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan affirmed the Chamber's commitment to continuing its role in strengthening economic relations between Jordan and European nations. This is achieved through representing the business community, providing a platform for public-private dialogue, and encouraging trade and investment partnerships to attract investments, expand trade, and enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.
They noted that the Chamber works to support European companies operating in the Kingdom and assist Jordanian companies seeking to expand their operations into European markets, alongside contributing to the development of the business environment and enhancing engagement with decision-makers to serve joint economic interests.
It is worth noting that the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan was launched in the second half of 2025, marking the culmination of three decades of work under the Jordan Europe Business Association (JEBA), to serve as an independent organization representing the interests of European companies and European-oriented Jordanian firms in the Kingdom.
The Chamber works to enhance trade and investment between Jordan and European countries within the framework of the Jordan-EU Association Agreement, while building effective bridges of dialogue between the private sector and decision-makers at both the Jordanian and European levels, contributing to the development of the business environment and the strengthening of economic relations between both sides.
