The Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom revealed that the motivation appears to be financial gain, Jo24 reported.

The newspaper notes that after the events of October 7, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) intensified efforts to control weapon possession within the Palestinian territories.

According to IOF sources, a total of 1,044 weapon pieces of various types have been seized since the beginning of October 7, including 822 pieces in Palestinian territories.

In a recent incident near the Ma’ale Adumim settlement in occupied Jerusalem, an IOF soldier was killed, and eight soldiers and settlers were injured. Two of the wounded are in critical condition. Palestinian resistance fighters used an M16 rifle.

This operation in Ma’ale Adumim comes days after an incident in the Kiryat Malachi settlement, resulting in the deaths of two Israeli settlers.
