BEIRUT – On Friday, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, stated that Israel has not respected UN Resolution 1701, which calls for a full cessation of hostilities in southern Lebanon and the withdrawal of Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) from Lebanon, to be replaced by deployed Lebanese and United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) forces.اضافة اعلان

According to Mikati, Lebanon has documented 35,000 Israeli violations of the resolution, including violations of its airspace, land, and territorial waters, Khaberni reported.

Mikati highlighted that Lebanon is still committed to UN resolutions, especially Resolution 1701. The Lebanese government works with UNIFIL forces to maintain regional stability and prevent further escalation of tensions.

He emphasized that conversation and diplomacy are essential for resolving disagreements or tensions in the region. The Lebanese government is committed to seeking diplomatic solutions. However, an immediate suspension of hostilities in Gaza is required for such diplomacy.

Mikati warned that the Gaza war and its aftermath could further destabilize Lebanon, jeopardizing its political and economic prospects. It may also have an impact on Lebanon's ability to control internal affairs and pose further security concerns.
