The Iranian Presidency has officially announced the appointment of Mohammad Baqer Zolghadr as the new Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), succeeding Ali Larijani.اضافة اعلان

Mohammad Mahdi Tabatabaei, head of the Presidential Public Relations Office, confirmed the appointment via a presidential decree. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Tabatabaei wrote:

"With the approval of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and by presidential decree, Mohammad Baqer Zolghadr has been appointed Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council."

Who is Mohammad Baqer Zolghadr?
The new security chief brings a deep military and administrative background to the role:

Military Background: He previously held several high-ranking leadership positions within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Political Role: Most recently, he served as the Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council.

This strategic appointment comes at a critical time for Iran's national security apparatus, given the ongoing regional tensions and the war currently involving Tehran.
