The ministerial meeting comes at the request of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and Egypt, to address the Iranian attacks against Arab states, which constitute a violation of international laws, international charters, and the principles of good neighborliness.

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, described the Iranian attacks against Arab countries as “serious.”

Aboul Gheit stated that the attacks carried out by Iran are fully condemned, noting that they are not only a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, but also an assault on the principles of good neighborly relations.

He warned that the Iranian attacks create an unprecedented level of hostility between Iran and its Arab neighbors, causing a deep rift between Iran and the surrounding Arab region, which could have lasting consequences in the future.

Aboul Gheit also noted that no one underestimates the hardships of the war facing Iran, but at the same time there is no acceptable justification for targeting neighboring Arab states in an attempt to drag them into a war that is not theirs, especially since several Arab countries have worked tirelessly to prevent such a catastrophic war from occurring.
