The Israeli website "Walla" reported that Israeli military aircraft targeted more than 10 sites inside Iran, including air defense systems and ballistic missile launchers.
On the American side, Axios quoted a U.S. official confirming that the Israeli bombardment of Iran was relatively limited, following a request from President Donald Trump to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call yesterday evening not to respond to the Iranian strikes.
Axios also confirmed, citing a U.S. military official, that the U.S. military did not participate in the Israeli strikes on Iran.
On the other hand, Israel Hayom newspaper quoted a source stating that Israel coordinated its attack on Iran with the United States.
Additionally, Israeli media reported that Tel Aviv is preparing for an immediate missile attack from Iran.
The Israeli Home Front Command reinstated emergency restrictions, announcing that schools and educational institutions will remain closed.
The Israeli Home Front Command also called on all Israelis to stay near shelters and avoid gathering.
The "Walla" website, citing sources, reported that hospitals in Israel have transitioned to operating under emergency protocols.
In contrast, official Iranian media reported hearing explosions in several regions, including at least three explosions in Isfahan, two powerful explosions in the capital, Tehran, as well as explosions in the vicinity of the city of Karaj. Meanwhile, Mehr News Agency reported hearing powerful explosions in Tehran, and Iranian television stated that explosions were recorded in Tehran, Tabriz, and Isfahan.
In the first Iranian comment on the Israeli strikes, the Iranian news agency—quoting the Revolutionary Guard—said: "The Zionist enemy launched an attack on targets inside our territory using ballistic missiles."
The security affairs official in Iran's Isfahan province stated that Israel launched an attack early this morning on the city of Najafabad without causing any casualties.
For his part, the spokesperson for the Tehran Fire Department said that residential areas in the capital were not targeted during the attack.
Following the strikes, Iran closed the airspace of Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran, according to the Associated Press.
Tehran had previously warned that it would deliver a crushing response against Israeli targets if Tel Aviv engaged in military escalation against it. This followed missile barrages launched by Iranian forces yesterday, Sunday, toward military targets in northern Israel, in response to Israeli raids that targeted the southern suburb of Beirut.
Mohsen Rezaei, military advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, said that Iran’s launching of missiles toward Israel was a "warning message to stop its hostile actions" in Lebanon, warning that any "new hostile act will be met with a more powerful and costly response." (Agencies)
