Arab Parliament Condemns Netanyahu’s Statements on the Displacement of Palestinians
The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the statements made by Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he blatantly called for the displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing. The Parliament considered these remarks an extension of the ethnic cleansing and forced displacement policies pursued by the occupation for decades.اضافة اعلان

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, affirmed that the Arab Parliament regards these false and rejected calls as a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and relevant United Nations resolutions. He described them as a blatant infringement on the Palestinian people’s right to remain on their land and to establish their independent, sovereign state, and as a direct threat to international peace and security.

He stressed that forced displacement is a fully-fledged war crime that does not lapse with time, noting that the Palestinian people are firmly rooted in their land and will not accept any dubious schemes aimed at uprooting them from their homeland.

Al-Yamahi reiterated the Arab Parliament’s categorical rejection of all displacement attempts pursued by the occupation in Gaza, the West Bank, or any part of the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as its rejection of any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The Speaker of the Arab Parliament called on the international community, the UN Security Council, and the United Nations to assume their legal, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities to halt these grave violations, put an end to the racist incitement propagated by occupation leaders, and provide the necessary international protection for the Palestinian people. He further urged serious efforts to enable them to exercise their legitimate right to self-determination and to establish their independent, sovereign state, as the only path to achieving comprehensive and just peace that ensures security and stability in the region.
