“This is my will and my final message.
If these words reach you, know that Israel has succeeded in killing me and silencing my voice.

First, peace be upon you and God’s mercy and blessings.
God knows that I exerted every effort and all the strength I had to be a support and a voice for my people, ever since I opened my eyes to life in the alleys and streets of Jabalia refugee camp. My hope was that God would extend my life until I could return, with my family and loved ones, to our original hometown of occupied Asqalan (Al-Majdal). But God’s will came first, and His decree was carried out.

I lived pain in all its forms, and I tasted loss and grief many times. Yet I never once hesitated to convey the truth as it is—without distortion or fabrication—hoping that God would be a witness over those who remained silent, over those who accepted our killing, over those who suffocated our breaths, and over those whose hearts were unmoved by the torn bodies of our children and women, and who did nothing to stop the massacre inflicted upon our people for more than a year and a half.

I urge you to hold fast to Palestine—the jewel of the Muslim crown and the heartbeat of every free person in this world.
I urge you to care for its people and its wronged children, who were not granted enough time in life to dream or live in safety and peace, whose pure bodies were crushed by thousands of tons of Israeli bombs and missiles, scattering their remains across walls.

I urge you not to let chains silence you, nor borders deter you. Be bridges toward the liberation of the land and the people, until the sun of dignity and freedom rises again over our usurped homeland.

I urge you to care for my family.
I urge you to look after the light of my eyes, my beloved daughter Sham, whom I was not given enough days to see grow up as I had dreamed.
I urge you to look after my dear son Salah, whom I wished to support and walk alongside until he became strong enough to carry my burden and complete my mission.

I urge you to care for my beloved mother, whose blessed prayers brought me to where I am, whose supplications were my fortress, and whose light guided my path. I pray that God steadies her heart and rewards her for me with the best of rewards.

I urge you also to care for my life partner, my beloved wife, Umm Salah—Bayan—whom the war separated from me for long days and months, yet she remained faithful to the promise, steadfast like an olive tree trunk that does not bend, patient and steadfast, carrying the responsibility in my absence with all strength and faith.
Stand by them, be their support after God Almighty.

If I die, I die steadfast on my principles. I bear witness before God that I am content with His decree, a believer in meeting Him, certain that what is with God is better and everlasting.

O God, accept me among the martyrs, forgive my past and future sins, and make my blood a light that illuminates the path of freedom for my people and family.

Forgive me if I fell short, and pray for me to have mercy, for I have kept the promise and never changed nor betrayed.

Do not forget Gaza…
And do not forget me from your sincere prayers for forgiveness and acceptance.

Anas Jamal Al-Sharif

On Sunday evening, five Palestinians, including four journalists, were killed in an Israeli airstrike west of Gaza City, according to the Palestinian News Agency “Wafa.”

The agency reported that the Israeli military targeted the journalists’ tent outside Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza, killing fellow journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqa, both Al Jazeera correspondents, and cameramen Ibrahim Zahir and Mohammed Noufal. Al-Kofiya TV correspondent Mohammed Sobeh was also injured.

The Israeli army had previously launched a broad incitement campaign against journalists in Gaza, particularly targeting Anas Al-Sharif. Dozens of journalists have been killed during the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.
