Abbas Calls for Free Legislative Elections on November 28

The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, issued a presidential decree setting Saturday, November 28, 2026, as the date for holding legislative elections.اضافة اعلان

The presidential decree called upon the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip to participate in free and direct legislative elections to elect members of the Palestinian Legislative Council on the date specified in the decree.

Issued in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law No. (1) of 2007 on General Elections and its amendments, the presidential decree aims to consolidate the foundations of democracy and complete the electoral process initiated in the State of Palestine.

It is noted that a date will be set for the presidential elections scheduled to be held in the first quarter of next year, in accordance with the law. (Wafa)
