Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Tuesday that reciprocal attacks in the Gulf region are undermining efforts to de-escalate tensions and end the war between the United States and Iran, calling for an immediate halt to the attacks.اضافة اعلان

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart in Baku, Fidan said Ankara attaches particular importance to the stability of its neighbor Iran.

He also stressed the need to ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and to return to the situation that existed before the outbreak of the war.

Fidan added that Turkey is in contact with all relevant parties in an effort to find a solution to the crisis.

Oman had postponed a regional meeting that was scheduled to take place in Salalah between Gulf states and Iran to discuss possible arrangements concerning the Strait of Hormuz. The move was aimed at creating conditions for dialogue that could lead to understandings supporting regional security and stability.

Tehran said the postponement came at the request of some regional countries and was made in coordination with Muscat.
