Local residents told Anadolu that they heard a powerful explosion in the vicinity of Aden International Airport, but no information was immediately available regarding the location of the blast or its consequences.

Meanwhile, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree claimed in a statement that the group targeted “the Saudi enemy’s operations room at Badr Camp in Aden” with a ballistic missile, saying the strike was “accurate and direct.”

There was no immediate comment from the Yemeni or Saudi governments regarding the attack or the Houthi claims.

The attack comes less than a week after Aden’s security administration announced on October 16 that two missiles launched by the Houthis had fallen inside Aden International Airport, with no casualties reported according to initial information at the time.

Since July, Yemen has witnessed a military escalation between government forces backed by a Saudi-led coalition and the Houthi group, following a period of relative calm linked to a truce that began in April 2022.

Yemen has been at war since the Houthis seized control of the capital, Sanaa, and several other provinces in September 2014.
