The Kingdom will be affected on Wednesday by a cold and moist air mass, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures. The weather will be cold and partly cloudy to cloudy across most regions.
The Meteorological Department expects light and scattered rain showers on Wednesday morning in parts of northern Jordan, accompanied by noticeable activity in westerly winds raising dust, which may result in reduced horizontal visibility, especially in desert areas and along desert highways.
During the afternoon hours, skies will become increasingly cloudy, and chances of rainfall will increase in northern and central parts of the Kingdom, as well as limited areas of the east and southwest. Rain may occasionally be heavy for short periods and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.
The Department confirmed that the Kingdom will continue to be affected on Thursday by the remnants of the cold air mass, with cold and partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, and a continued chance of light and scattered rainfall until noon in northern and central regions. Fog is also expected to form at night, particularly over high mountainous areas.
Forecasts indicate a slight rise in temperatures on Friday and Saturday, with relatively cold weather prevailing across most regions and milder conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, along with the appearance of high-altitude clouds.
The Meteorological Department warned of the possibility of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas in northern and central Jordan, reduced horizontal visibility due to dust and fog—especially in desert areas and on external roads—as well as the risk posed by strong winds and accompanying gusts, in addition to slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.
The Department urged citizens to exercise caution and to follow weather updates on a continuous basis.
