Jordan will be affected on Thursday by a hot air mass moving in from the Arabian Peninsula, raising temperatures and bringing relatively hot conditions to most areas. The Jordan Meteorological Department said temperatures would rise slightly on Thursday, with relatively hot conditions prevailing across most areas and very hot weather in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba. Temperatures are expected to reach around 36°C in Amman and 41°C in Aqaba.
Winds will be moderate and northeasterly on Thursday, becoming active at times, particularly in the Badia. At night, temperatures will be moderate across most areas and relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba, with moderate northeasterly winds.
Highs and lows in eastern Amman will range between 37°C and 24°C, while western Amman will record 35°C and 22°C. Temperatures will range between 32°C and 21°C in the northern highlands, 33°C and 20°C in the Sharah Mountains, 41°C and 26°C in the Badia, and 37°C and 23°C in the plains.
The northern Jordan Valley will see 42°C and 28°C, the southern Jordan Valley 43°C and 31°C, the Dead Sea 42°C and 30°C, and Aqaba 41°C and 28°C.
The Meteorological Department warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in the Badia and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours. It urged people to drink plenty of water and fluids, avoid leaving children inside closed vehicles even for short periods, and refrain from leaving flammable materials inside vehicles.
