American billionaire Elon Musk has renewed his warnings about the dangers of artificial intelligence, affirming it could be more dangerous than nuclear weapons, a position he had voiced more than a decade ago, according to Russia's Sputnik news agency.

Musk brought back a post he wrote in 2014, in which he warned that AI "could be more dangerous than nuclear weapons," recently commenting on it: "12 years ago."
This came after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called on Saturday for slowing down the development of increasingly powerful AI models, citing safety concerns, a proposal Musk later announced his support for.
In a related development, Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxson announced he was leaving the AI sector, expressing concern that the accelerating race between tech companies could push the world toward a "point of no return," potentially leading to a catastrophic scenario by the end of 2027.
Warnings over the fallout from AI's rapid advancement continue to grow across a number of fields, as a group of 25 mathematicians, including recipients of the prestigious Fields Medal, stated that using AI to solve mathematical problems is harming mathematics and the mathematical community.
The scientists said, in a statement published on the website "Mathematics and AI," that the AI industry's push to make solving math problems a benchmark for evaluating model capabilities "harms mathematics and the mathematical community," pointing to a significant conflict between the goals of AI companies and the goals of the mathematical community.
