His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attended the annual graduation ceremony of the fourteenth cohort of students at the American University in the Emirates (AUE), named the “Guinness Batch.”

The exceptional celebration took place at Festival Arena Dubai – Outdoor Hall, coinciding with the UAE’s 54th Union Day.
The ceremony saw the participation of a wide array of prominent figures, including H.E. Mohammed Saleh bin Badwa Al Darmaki, Honorary President of the University; H.E. Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; H.E. Mirza Al Sayegh, Board Member; H.E. Khalaf Al Sagheer Al Qubaisi, Board Member; Dr. Muthanna Ghanim Abdul Razzaq, President of AUE; in addition to members of the Board of Trustees, faculty and administrative staff, as well as large crowds of graduates’ families and guests.
During the event, the American University in the Emirates officially announced its entry into the Guinness World Records for creating the largest ghutra in the world — an achievement reflecting the university’s innovation and commitment to national identity. The university received the official certificate from Guinness representative Ms. Mbali Nkosi before a live presentation of the record-breaking ghutra was showcased to the audience.
In his keynote speech, H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said:
“I am delighted to be with you tonight on this occasion celebrating the graduation of a new cohort of 300 male and female students from the American University in the Emirates. Together, we express our pride in these graduates as they embark on a new chapter in their lives, becoming an important force for progress and development in the nation, the region, and the world.”
He continued:
“Our presence here tonight is clear evidence of the success and excellence achieved by AUE — success embodied in its commitment to the highest levels of performance, its continuous pursuit of national and international accreditation, and its dedication to developing students and preparing them to engage intelligently and effectively with the ever-changing world and its challenges.”
He added:
“We thank God that students here fully recognize the opportunities available at this university and engage with them with determination and seriousness, committed to fulfilling the hopes of the nation while upholding noble human values and remaining aware of global developments.”
His Excellency emphasized that this annual celebration is an opportunity to express deep gratitude for the support granted to educational institutions across the UAE by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising his constant emphasis on the importance of education and the empowerment of youth.
He also expressed appreciation for the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, commending his unwavering prioritization of human development and the opportunities provided to citizens to contribute to the nation’s growth and prosperity.
Sheikh Nahyan extended congratulations to the families and friends of the graduates, sharing in their joy and pride, and expressed gratitude to the university’s faculty and staff for their efforts in guiding this cohort, wishing them continued success and prosperity.
He concluded:
“To you, graduates, I say: congratulations. May each of you become a true model of a capable and distinguished graduate — a source of pride for your university and an example of dedication, responsibility, and lifelong learning. I wish you every success as you fulfill your role in serving humanity wherever you may be. May God grant you all success and bring continued progress and prosperity to our nation.”
The evening opened with a musical performance by an Emirati ensemble, reflecting national heritage in a contemporary artistic style. A special video presentation titled “Mohamedeen Al-Ezz”, produced by the university in celebration of the 54th Union Day, was also screened, earning great admiration from the audience.
A representative of the graduates delivered a speech expressing their pride in this historic moment and gratitude for the university’s support throughout their academic journey. Ms. Mbali Nkosi spoke about the university’s entry into the Guinness World Records as a testament to its global leadership and innovation.
H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan then presented certificates to the Class of 2025 amid a festive atmosphere that reflected the joy of the students and their families and highlighted the university’s commitment to empowering its graduates for promising professional futures.
The evening concluded with entertainment segments dedicated to the graduates and their families, embodying the spirit of achievement and showcasing the exceptional organizational quality that distinguishes the American University in the Emirates.
