The film tells the story of an eight-year-old girl, Tala, who is not allowed to leave her house due to Daesh controlling the streets in Syria. Her only contact with the outside world is her small television, but her father gets rid of it in compliance with a Daesh law banning televisions.

Tala’vision Director Murad Abu Eisheh was inspired to write the story after coming across an article about Daesh banning televisions in Syria in 2014. The film highlights Tala’s struggle trying to live her childhood in a war zone.
Tala’s character was played by 10-year old Aisha Balassem, who left Syria for Jordan a few years ago.  It was her first acting experience.

The film has won the Gold Student Academy Award and the Golden Yusr Award at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
