Field studies conducted on Jordanian amber samples have revealed the presence of fossilized flowers preserved within amber dating back approximately 140 million years to the Early Cretaceous period.اضافة اعلان

These specimens represent a rare botanical record documenting the early emergence of flowering plants (angiosperms) on Earth.

These flowers were discovered inside Jordanian amber formed in an ancient continental environment, where plant resins preserved exceptionally fine details of floral structures, including petals, pollen grains, and reproductive organs.

These findings are of significant scientific importance, as they belong to a very early stage in the evolutionary history of flowering plants.

This supports the hypothesis that the Levant region may have been among the earliest environments witnessing the origin of angiosperms.

This discovery is part of broader research on Jordanian amber, which has demonstrated a rich diversity of insects, plants, and microscopic environmental remains, making it one of the most important records of ancient life in the region.

The presence of flowers of such antiquity in Jordan places it in a prominent position within the global record of angiosperm evolution and opens new horizons for scientific research into the origin of modern vegetation.
