These individual efforts came to highlight the rich biodiversity, rare coral reefs, and unique dive sites in the Gulf of Aqaba that have no match anywhere else in the world, effectively turning into a global promotional message.
The photographers managed to capture mesmerizing footage of marine life, submerged military museums, and coral formations that establish Aqaba as a first-class global tourist destination.
Underwater photographer Captain Yazan Al-Saad emphasized that the idea stemmed from an absolute belief in Aqaba’s aesthetic appeal, stating: "We headed to the depths with our personal equipment and cameras because we see an artwork in every dive that deserves to be seen by the world. The photos we captured are messages of love and open invitations to all diving and nature enthusiasts around the globe to come and discover Aqaba’s charm for themselves."
For his part, photographer Obada Al-Ma'aytah stated that the Gulf of Aqaba possesses environmental characteristics that make it globally unique—particularly exclusive dive sites not replicated in any other ocean or sea, such as the unique coral reefs and the underwater military museum. He added: "Through our lenses, we wanted to prove to the world that Jordan possesses a genuine underwater treasure, and that this clean and diverse marine environment is a natural heritage that must be preserved and promoted according to the highest professional standards."
Captain and photographer Mohammad Al-Qatawneh stressed the importance of imagery in modern tourism industry, pointing out that social media platforms have become the most powerful promotional tools. He noted: "Every photo we capture and publish acts as a tourism ambassador for Jordan. We have witnessed immense engagement from diving professionals around the world as soon as these shots were published."
On his part, Khamash Yaseen, President of the Aqaba Diving Association, praised this national initiative and highlighted the key role divers in Aqaba play in driving tourism. He stated that what these young people accomplished represents a true model of active citizenship, adding that the association values these efforts, which complement the official vision to promote Aqaba as a global diving destination.
Yaseen added that the Gulf of Aqaba is considered one of the most important and beautiful diving environments in the world due to its biodiversity, warm waters, and the availability of dive sites suitable for all skill levels. He affirmed that the association consistently supports such creative initiatives that reflect the professionalism of Jordanian divers and their commitment to protecting and sustaining the marine environment.

This initiative comes at a time when relevant authorities at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) are seeking to revitalize tourism and attract more international tourists. Such voluntary efforts serve as a vital pillar supporting official plans by delivering authentic, impactful visual content that reflects the true spirit of the Gulf of Aqaba.
