Tomorrow, Wednesday evening, the July full moon will reach completion, adorning the skies of Jordan and the world. The moon will reach its full phase at 5:34 PM Jordan time and will be visible throughout the night after rising nearly simultaneously with sunset, according to Dr. Ammar Al-Sakaji, President of the Jordanian Astronomical Society.

Dr. Al-Sakaji explained that the full moon will be at an average distance of approximately 402,000 kilometers from Earth, appearing visually in the constellation Capricornus. He confirmed that it is not classified under the "micromoon" phenomenon.
He pointed out that the event presents a great opportunity for astronomy enthusiasts and photographers, particularly when the moon rises or sets near the horizon. However, the full moon increases the overall brightness of the night sky, making it difficult to observe faint celestial objects such as galaxies and nebulae; therefore, astronomers prefer conducting deep-sky observations on nights close to the new moon.
He noted that the July full moon carries various names across different cultures, most notably the "Buck Moon," while in ancient Arab heritage it was known as "Badr Al-Najir" (the Sweltering Full Moon) in reference to the intense summer heat.
