Ajloun Governorate witnessed an active tourist movement today, Friday, as thousands of local, Arab, and foreign visitors flocked to its tourist, archaeological, and environmental sites, which contributed to boosting economic activity.اضافة اعلان

Firas Al-Khattab, Director of Ajloun Tourism, said the governorate welcomed more than 20,000 visitors, covering the castle, cable car, nature reserve, hiking trails, Rajeb, and Ishtafina forests, while occupancy rates at tourist facilities—restaurants, chalets, and guesthouses—reached 80 percent.

He stressed that tourism department teams continue to monitor the sites, ensuring their readiness and the quality of services provided in line with the highest standards, to guarantee visitor comfort and enhance the tourism experience.

He added that Mar Elias site, recognized by the Vatican as a Christian pilgrimage destination, received 17,063 visitors from inside and outside Jordan from the beginning of the year until the end of last August. He highlighted the significance of the site, which includes several ancient churches and is considered one of the Kingdom’s most important religious tourism destinations.

Oday Al-Qudah, Director of the Ajloun Forest Reserve, said the reserve witnessed wide turnout from families and visitors seeking to enjoy the natural landscapes, eco-trails, and tourist activities offered. He noted that the reserve continuously works to develop its services and expand its recreational and environmental programs to meet visitor expectations while preserving the sustainability of forests and biodiversity.
