Speaking at the vigil, held outside the municipality’s main entrance, retired Major General Mohammad Bani Yaseen, head of the Greater Jerash Municipality Committee, said: “Today, we stand in solidarity with our family and friends in Karak Governorate.”

Bani Yaseen added: “We also remember the solidarity shown by His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, whose support for the injured and the families of the deceased has been witnessed by people near and far. We stand behind our wise Hashemite leadership and condemn this heinous act.”

Father Dr. Jreis Smeirat said: “We are part of the Jordanian people, and our allegiance is to Jordan and its Hashemite leadership.” He praised the efforts of the King and the security services.

Smeirat added that such acts could only be committed by a misguided group with no connection to the Jordanian people or Jordan. “We have given, and continue to give, to this country, which stands firm against all those who defy it,” he said.

MP Bader Al-Harahsheh said: “We are all Jordanians and live on the soil of this generous country. All Jordanians, led by His Majesty the King, condemn this act, which has nothing to do with the Jordanian people. We have always said, and continue to say, that Jordan, its Hashemite leadership and its loyal people will not tolerate such criminal acts.”

Al-Harahsheh added: “Today, we stand united with our people in Karak. We pray for the souls of our brave martyrs and ask God to grant the wounded and injured a speedy recovery. We extend our deepest condolences to His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, may God protect him, to our people in Karak and to the Jordanian family as a whole.”

Meanwhile, Raja Al-Uloom, director of media and social media at Jerash Municipality, said: “Our vigil today is a national message that embodies the unity and solidarity of Jordanians and affirms that Jordan brings us together with one heart and a shared destiny. Brotherhood and national unity are fundamental pillars of our country’s strength and stability.”

She added: “From Jerash to Karak, we reaffirm our pride in our Hashemite leadership, our support for it, and our solidarity with our armed forces and security agencies. We pray that God protects Jordan, its leadership and its people, and preserves the blessings of security and peace.”

Engineer Abdul Hadi Al-Hawamdeh recited a poem praising Jordan, its Hashemite leadership and its loyal people. Other attendees also spoke about the heinous crime, condemning those responsible as a misguided group with no connection to Jordan or its people.
