Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Kharabsheh, affirmed on Wednesday during his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, Joseph Al-Sadi, the deep historical relations between Jordan and Lebanon, noting the Royal directives to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of electric interconnection and natural gas supply.

During the meeting, Kharabsheh confirmed Jordan’s readiness to provide Lebanon with part of its electricity needs once all other relevant parties are prepared, noting that the interconnection lines on Jordan’s side are fully operational.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of delivering natural gas to Lebanon through the Arab Gas Pipeline, as part of efforts to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by the ministry’s Secretary-General, Engineer Amani Al-Azzam, and the General Manager of the National Electric Power Company, Engineer Sufyan Bataineh.
