Enhancing relations
Khalil Haj Tawfiq, the head of ACC, emphasized the potential for Jordan to enhance its economic relations with ASEAN countries by expanding the range of exported commodities and attracting value-added investments.

Haj Tawfiq revealed that ACC is actively preparing to organize a Jordanian-Asian economic forum by the end of 2023. The forum aims to facilitate joint fairs and meetings for business owners, industrialists, and traders from ASEAN countries, fostering closer ties with their Jordanian counterparts.

Additionally, Haj Tawfiq stated that ACC intends to extend an invitation to the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture for Arab Countries.

The invitation will be extended to members of Arab trade and industry chambers, including those from Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Yemen, and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

ASEAN, currently comprised of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei, Myanmar, and Vietnam, boasts a collective population of 668 million and spans an area of 4 million sq.km.

Founded in 1967 and headquartered in Jakarta, ASEAN is recognized as both a political and economic organization, and it stands as the world's seventh-largest economy.
