The value of industrial exports to Irbid Governorate increased during the first half of 2026 to $590.1 million, compared to $541.9 million for the same period in 2025, achieving a growth of 8.9% and an increase of more than $48 million, according to the head of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Hani Abu Hassan.

Abu Hassan said that the month of June recorded one of the strongest export months since the beginning of the year, after the value of industrial exports reached $129.2 million, compared to $100.5 million in the same month last year, with a growth of 28.5%, which reflects the continued performance of the industrial sector and its ability to maintain its presence in foreign markets despite economic and regional challenges.
He added that the leather and knitwear industries sector maintained its lead in exports during June with a value of $114.6 million, with a growth of 22.4% compared to the same month of 2025, while the chemical and cosmetic industries recorded a growth of 161.4%, the food and agricultural industries 109.4%, the construction industries 92.4%, the therapeutic industries and medical supplies 87.8%, and the plastics and rubber industries 43.3%, while the exports of engineering and electrical industries increased more than 16 times compared to June last year.
He pointed out that the United States topped the importing countries of Irbid governorate during June with a value exceeding $85.9 million, followed by the Netherlands, then Germany, Canada and Saudi Arabia, considering that this reflects the success of industrial companies in diversifying their foreign markets and enhancing the competitiveness of the Jordanian product.
He pointed out that the number of certificates of origin issued during June increased to 1,587 certificates compared to 1,146 certificates during the same month of 2025, with a growth rate of 38.5%, while Al-Hassan Industrial City accounted for the largest share of exports with a value of $124.3 million, followed by Cyber City with $4.39 million, and then the head office with about $569,000.
Abu Hassan stressed that the results of the first half of the year reflect the strength of the industrial base in Irbid Governorate and its ability to achieve growth, pointing out that the Irbid Chamber of Industry will continue to cooperate with industrial companies and government agencies to enhance the competitiveness of the sector, open new export markets, and overcome challenges for exporters, in a way that contributes to increasing exports, stimulating investment and providing job opportunities.
