AMMAN —
Biolab Medical Laboratory was certified with the Global Information Security
Standard (ISO) 27001, as a result of fulfilling all the requirements for
obtaining the certificate, the lab said in a statement.

It said it
completed all the requirements for success and obtaining formal accreditation
by the Austrian TUV company licensed to grant this certificate.
“This achievement
confirms the keenness of
Biolab Medical Laboratory, to work in accordance with
the highest international standards, to develop its policies and procedures in
all fields,” the statement said.
Mohammed
Al-Ghoneim, Director of the Information Technology Department at Biolab Medical
Laboratory, asserted the importance of information security and “maintaining
the confidentiality and privacy of patient information especially in light of
the qualitative shift in this field in Jordan and the world”, according to the
statement.
It said he pointed
to the lab’s technological development, which included digital applications
“specialized in customer and patient service in particular, and their continued
application of development plans to digitalize all their laboratory work and
ensuring the continuity of work and services with the highest international
standards.”
The statement also
quoted the founder and CEO of Biolab Medical Laboratory, Dr. Amid AbdelNour,
who asserted that Biolab “is continuously seeking international credits for its
systems and services, which directly reflects on the development of the
services provided.”
ISO 27001 is a
prestigious international certificate for information security management,
published by
International Organization for Standardization, the world’s
largest non-governmental authority specialized for international
standardization.
Obtaining the
certificate requires building an independent audit and evaluation committee to
evaluate all operations, including monitoring and continued development of the
Information Security Management System and IT systems in the context of
business and operational processes.
