The Chairman of the Zarqa Chamber of Industry, Fares Hammoudeh, said that the total value of the Chamber’s exports last year amounted to USD 1,504.04 million, compared with USD 1,533.0 million in 2024.

The number of certificates of origin issued last year reached 20,514, compared with 19,364 certificates in 2024, marking an increase of 6 percent.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Hammoudeh explained that industrial exports recorded growth during most months of 2025 compared with 2024.
He noted that North American markets accounted for 46 percent of total exports, valued at USD 691.0 million, despite a decline of 11 percent compared with 2024. The United States ranked first within this group, with exports totaling USD 663.9 million, down 10 percent, while exports to Canada amounted to USD 22.8 million, reflecting a decrease of 35 percent.
Industrial exports to Arab countries witnessed notable growth last year, rising by 15 percent to reach USD 603.1 million, representing 40 percent of total exports, compared with USD 526.4 million in 2024.
Iraq topped the list of Arab importing countries with imports valued at USD 253 million, recording an increase of 25 percent, followed by Saudi Arabia at USD 156.4 million, up 26 percent, and Algeria at USD 48.6 million, achieving the highest growth rate at 112 percent.
Exports to non-Arab Asian countries totaled USD 98.04 million, accounting for about 7 percent of total exports, marking a slight decline of 2 percent compared with 2024. India ranked first with exports valued at USD 10.4 million, up 46 percent, followed by Japan at USD 5.3 million despite a 7 percent decline, and China at USD 3.9 million, down 42 percent.
Exports to European Union countries reached USD 42.9 million, representing 3 percent of total exports, a decrease of 35 percent compared with 2024. The Netherlands topped EU countries with exports valued at USD 14.7 million, followed by Greece at USD 9 million, and the United Kingdom at USD 6.7 million.
As for exports to non-Arab African countries, they amounted to USD 2.8 million last year, recording a growth of 17 percent compared with 2024. South Africa topped this group with exports valued at USD 1.6 million, followed by Guinea with exports of USD 1 million.
At the sectoral level, the leather and garment industries maintained first place in exports during 2025, with a value of USD 732.35 million, despite a decline of 14 percent compared with 2024. The food, catering, agricultural, and livestock industries ranked second with exports valued at USD 274.07 million, recording a growth of 5 percent.
The engineering, electrical, and information technology industries ranked third with exports of USD 134.29 million, achieving a growth of 33 percent, followed by the construction industries with exports valued at USD 119.02 million, up 22 percent. The chemical industries and cosmetics sector also recorded exports worth USD 83.57 million, up 19 percent.
The remaining exports were distributed across other sectors, with pharmaceutical and medical supplies exports reaching USD 58.22 million, packaging, paper, and cardboard industries USD 57.87 million, plastic and rubber industries USD 42.02 million, and wood and furniture industries USD 2.55 million.
