Al-Kharabsheh stated that the committee approved a package of projects and sites to be supplied with electricity at the expense of the Rural Fils Fund. These include residential communities and various economic activities, as part of an expansion in service delivery under newly approved amendments to the electricity connectivity guidelines.

Providing further details, Engineer Hisham Al-Momini, Director of the Electricity and Rural Electrification Directorate at the Ministry of Energy, stated that the decisions covered residential homes located outside municipal zoning boundaries, at a total cost of JOD 343,000.

According to a press release issued today, Sunday, Al-Momini added that the decisions also included support for underprivileged and low-income households located within zoning boundaries inside the concession areas of electricity distribution companies. This support totaled JOD 3,000 as part of ongoing efforts to assist low-income families.

He noted that the support list extended to livestock projects—including poultry, cattle, sheep, and fish farms located outside zoning boundaries—at a total cost of JOD 88,000, aiming to assist farmers and bolster the agricultural sector.

Furthermore, Al-Momini highlighted the Rural Fils Fund’s contribution to supporting farms that utilize artesian wells outside zoning boundaries, totaling JOD 168,000. This initiative aims to support the agricultural sector and contribute to food security. Additionally, JOD 397,000 was allocated to support productive, industrial, investment, tourism, and economic projects, contingent upon their creation of job opportunities for local Jordanians.

He pointed out that the program also contributed to connecting electricity to government sector projects, as well as agricultural and charitable cooperative societies, at a total cost of JOD 30,000. An additional JOD 20,000 was allocated for lighting roads leading to cemeteries, to facilitate access for citizens at night.

Regarding renewable energy, Al-Momini indicated that the committee approved the installation of an off-grid solar cell system for an underprivileged, low-income home located outside zoning boundaries and far from the national grid. The system costs JOD 4,000, aligning with the ministry's efforts to provide sustainable solutions for areas where conventional grid connection is unfeasible.
