Dr. Daifallah Abu Aqula, President of the Syndicate of Clearance and Cargo Transport Company Owners, stated that the flow of goods into the Kingdom through all customs centers and Aqaba ports is proceeding normally, supported by facilities and cooperation between various relevant agencies and clearance companies to accelerate procedures.
In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), he expressed his appreciation for the efforts and facilities provided by the various institutions of the Port of Aqaba, Jordan Customs cadres, and security agencies to speed up operations and complete transactions for local market entries, exports, and transit goods as quickly as possible.
He highlighted the significant cooperation shown by Shadi Al-Majali, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), as well as Customs Major General Ahmed Al-Akalik, Director General of Jordan Customs, with the clearance and transport sector both inside Aqaba and across customs centers to support trade, supply chains, cargo transport, and transit operations.
Dr. Abu Aqula explained that the swift processing of transactions by the Jordan Customs Department, in cooperation with various security bodies, reflects a genuine partnership among all stakeholders working as one team to facilitate procedures and eliminate obstacles facing goods and trade, while maintaining regulatory and safety requirements.
He noted that the active movement of Jordanian and foreign trucks entering and leaving the Kingdom is highly significant given Jordan's strategic location, pointing to shifts from maritime to overland transport routes, which enhances Jordan's standing within regional supply chains.
Notably, the Syndicate of Clearance and Cargo Transport Company Owners, established in 1982 and registered with the Ministry of Labor, aims to serve the sector, address challenges facing workers, and elevate the profession's standard and workforce efficiency.
The number of operating and licensed clearance companies in the Kingdom stands at 467, comprising 2,000 branches distributed across all customs and border centers, providing approximately 10,000 job opportunities for Jordanians. (Petra)
