A "Certificate of Origin" is a document used in international trade to certify that the goods in a particular shipment have been produced, manufactured, or processed in a specific country. It is used by customs authorities to determine the eligibility of goods for specific tariffs and to verify the country of origin of those goods.
It is worth noting that the Amman Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for Jordanian raw agricultural, animal, and natural resource products, foreign goods being re-exported, and foreign goods purchased from the local market under specific conditions.
The Chamber also issues certificates of origin for Jordanian industrial products upon the exporter's request, based on the original factory invoice certified by a chamber of industry and a properly certified original certificate of origin issued by a chamber of industry proving that the goods are of Jordanian origin. This is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Article (29) of the Jordanian Chambers of Commerce Regulation No. (45) of 2009 and the Instructions for Issuing Certificates of Origin of 2013.
