Jordan, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the Government of the Lebanese Republic, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Water, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance joint cooperation in electricity, natural gas, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.

The MoU aims to activate energy linkage projects between the two countries, exchange technical and regulatory expertise, and strengthen institutional coordination to develop energy policies and improve efficiency, contributing to supply security and sustainable economic development in both nations.
Areas of cooperation include conducting technical and economic studies to activate and enhance electricity interconnection projects, as well as exchanging expertise in electricity sector regulation, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and investment-supporting legislation in these fields.
The MoU also provides for the formation of joint technical teams to prepare annual implementation plans and monitor the execution of priority projects, with the possibility of involving Arab and international funding and donor agencies to support joint initiatives.
The MoU takes effect from the date of signing and remains valid for three years, automatically renewable, reflecting both countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and integrating energy systems to serve their shared interests.
