Trump: It Would Be “Wise” for Maduro to Step Down

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that it would be “wise” for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to step down from office.

Responding to questions from reporters at his home in Florida about whether Washington’s threats toward Caracas were aimed at ending Maduro’s 12-year rule, Trump said, “It’s up to him to decide what he wants to do. I think it would be wise” for him to step down.اضافة اعلان

Earlier on Monday, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said that the Venezuelan president “should leave,” in what was one of the clearest indications so far that Washington is seeking a change in leadership in Caracas.
