US President Donald Trump said Monday that he is ready to hold a trilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in China to discuss nuclear disarmament.

Trump expressed his belief that the meeting would take place, while reiterating Washington’s desire to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is not helping efforts to reach a solution to end the conflict, arguing that it is time to allow someone else to lead the negotiations.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said Zelensky “doesn’t know what he’s talking about” and should listen to what he says. He stressed that he wants Russia and Ukraine to end the war.
Trump said Ukraine was suffering heavy losses as the war continued, adding that Ukrainians were blaming Zelensky for the deaths of members of their families.
He also criticized the scale of US assistance to Ukraine, saying Washington had given Kyiv a great deal but had received nothing in return.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin said Monday that the idea of holding a trilateral meeting between Trump, Putin and Xi had already been raised, but stressed that no agreement had been reached on holding the meeting or determining its agenda.
Trump Says US Negotiating with Russia on Iran
On Iran, Trump said the United States was holding negotiations with Russia regarding Iran, describing the situation as progressing well.
He said Russia had not taken any action regarding Iran, describing that as a positive development, while noting that Moscow could provide substantial assistance on the issue.
Trump Criticizes Macron Over Migration
Regarding the situation in France, Trump said the country was in a very bad state and criticized French President Emmanuel Macron’s handling of migration.
He said he had repeatedly advised Macron to close France’s borders to migrants, but Macron had not followed his advice.
