Trump announced that “the members of the Peace Council and many other exciting announcements will be revealed in the coming weeks.”

On his platform “Truth Social,” the U.S. President wrote:
“I congratulate the world on the amazing vote by the United Nations Security Council, just moments ago, which approved and endorsed the Peace Council that I will chair, and which includes the most powerful and respected leaders from around the globe.”

He added: “This will be recorded as one of the greatest approvals in the history of the United Nations, and it will lead to more peace throughout the world — a moment of truly historic dimensions!”

The U.S. President expressed his gratitude “to the United Nations and all the countries on the UN Security Council — China, Russia, France, the United Kingdom, Algeria, Denmark, Greece, Guyana, South Korea, Pakistan, Panama, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, and Somalia.”

He continued: “Thanks also to the countries that are not on the Council but strongly supported the effort, including Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, and Jordan.”

The UN Security Council had approved on Monday the U.S.-sponsored draft resolution supporting President Donald Trump’s plan to establish peace in Gaza, with 13 countries voting in favor.

Thirteen Security Council members voted for the U.S. resolution, while Russia and China abstained.

U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz described the resolution as “historic and constructive,” noting that the International Stabilization Force will ensure the disarmament of Hamas.

The U.S. representative added that the World Bank will support development in Gaza, pointing out that “today’s resolution marks the beginning of a stable, terrorism-free Gaza,” as he put it.
