The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency (UKMTO) announced on Monday that an oil tanker was hit by unidentified projectiles while sailing southeast in the Arabian Gulf, 72 nautical miles east of Ras Al-Khafji in Saudi Arabia.

The agency said the projectiles struck the tanker's left side, confirming that all crew members are safe, and that no environmental impact from the incident has been recorded so far.
The agency urged passing vessels to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity, noting that the authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
