AMMAN — The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday
said that the grace period granted for foreign workers to receive two doses of
a COVID-19 vaccine will end on December 15, and it will be followed by
"strict measures", including deportation.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency,
Petra, the ministry said that the decision aims to protect public health,
noting that prompting foreign workers to get vaccinated protects them against
future infections and the transmission of the coronavirus.
Foreign workers are allowed to receive the vaccine for
free, without the need to present their residency or work permits.
