AMMAN UNHCR donors have renewed support to the agency, allowing it to distribute critical winter assistance to the most vulnerable refugees in Jordan, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.اضافة اعلان

During the first half of December, the UNHCR will distribute one-time winter cash assistance to refugees in communities across the Kingdom and in refugee camps.

Refugees who will receive assistance are not limited to one nationality and will include Syrians, Iraqis, Yemenis, Sudanese, and others, a press statement said.

The UNHCR’s winter cash aims to help families cover necessary needs during the winter season, including securing shelter, performing home maintenance, buying warm shoes for children, and acquiring gas cylinders and firewood for heating.

UNHCR recently received funding from the US, the EU, and the Netherlands, alongside the Qatar Fund for Development, which sustained the agency’s cash for the basic needs program.

A significant contribution of flexible funding also came from Germany recently.
