His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday affirmed that Jordan will not allow anyone to exploit the current regional developments to question the Kingdom’s firm and consistent positions on the causes of the Arab nation.
During a meeting he chaired at Al Husseiniya Palace with the heads of the three branches of government and security agency leaders, His Majesty underscored the importance of maintaining internal unity and reinforcing national spirit.
The King directed all state institutions to work toward alleviating the negative effects of the current serious regional escalation, particularly in the economic sphere.
His Majesty reiterated Jordan’s call for intensifying international efforts to achieve a comprehensive de-escalation, stressing that resolving conflicts between countries and reducing tensions must occur within diplomatic frameworks, dialogue, and negotiations.
The King once again emphasized that achieving lasting stability and peace in the region is not possible without resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict—the core conflict in the region.
He renewed the call for stepped-up international efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, reduce tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and pave the way for a political horizon toward a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, House of Representatives Speaker Ahmad Al-Safadi, President of the Judicial Council Mahmoud Al-Ababneh, and President of the Constitutional Court Mohammad Al-Ghazo.
Also present were Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Ahmad Al-Huneiti, Director of the General Intelligence Department Major General Ahmad Hosni, and Director of Public Security Major General Dr. Obaidallah Maaytah.
The meeting was attended as well by Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and Director of His Majesty’s Office, Engineer Alaa Al-Bataineh.
