The two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expressed a mutual commitment to enhancing the friendship between Jordan and Austria. They agreed on taking practical steps to boost collaboration across multiple sectors, including trade, tourism, investment, and education.
Their discussions also addressed pressing regional developments, particularly the ongoing efforts to secure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. Minister Safadi reiterated Jordan's support for the mediation efforts led by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.
Safadi emphasized the urgent need to end the Israeli aggression on Gaza, warning of the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe it has caused. He also underscored the importance of halting illegal Israeli actions in the West Bank, which threaten the viability of the two-state solution — the only path to lasting peace and stability.
The ministers also reviewed the situation in Syria, with Safadi highlighting the importance of supporting the Syrian government’s efforts to rebuild the country after years of conflict and destruction.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation within the framework of the European Union.
