Retired captain honored for helping stop Zarqa stabbing

AMMAN — The Director of the Public Security Directorate Maj. Gen. Hussein Al-Hawatmeh on Thursday honored Capt. Talal Al-Jazzi, a retired member of the security services, for helping to stop a reported stabbing at a bank in Zarqa on Wednesday.اضافة اعلان

Hawatmeh stated: “Maintaining the security of citizens and combating crime is an honor for public security officials, who have managed to achieve this service with a great level of devotion and dedication even after their retirement, as demonstrated by retired Capt. Talal Al-Jazzi.”

Hawatmeh praised Jazzi’s courageous contribution in arresting the assailant and preventing him from hurting anymore citizens.

The director noted the value of good citizenship, and said that Jazzi embodied the true meaning of army enlistment, which “we have learned at the Hashemite School, and which was demonstrated clearly by the Captain’s courageous act.”

Maj. Gen. Hawatmeh also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the officials of the Zarqa Police Directorate for their professional handling of the incident, their rapid arrival within a few minutes, and the aid given to the injured, according to Al-Ghad.
