AMMAN — A media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated on Thursday that the Zarqa Governorate Police
Directorate are opening a murder probe after a man in his sixties was found
dead at his Zarqa home on August 4. The man’s body was transferred to
forensics, where it was confirmed that he was beaten to death, according to
Al-Ghad news.
According to the spokesperson, a special investigative team
headed by the Central Criminal Investigation Division and the Zarqa Police
Directorate was able to identify a suspect in record time. The suspect was
arrested and interrogated, and later admitted to hitting the victim with a tool
after a dispute. The spokesperson added that the investigation is still underway,
and no charges have been filed at this time.
