The Parliamentary Committee on Labor, Social Development and Population will hold a press conference on Monday afternoon to brief the public and media on the committee’s action plan for studying and discussing the draft amendments to the Social Security Law for 2026.
The committee stressed that the conference comes in recognition of the importance of involving various stakeholders in discussing the draft law, in a way that ensures the development of the social protection system and strengthens the sustainability of the social security system while achieving fairness and safeguarding the rights of contributors and retirees.
Committee Chair Andre Hawari explained that the committee will launch an electronic platform to receive opinions, comments, and proposals from contributors, relevant institutions, experts, and specialists, contributing to enriching the discussion on the draft law and reaching the best possible legislative formulations.
For his part, Speaker of the House Mazen Al-Qadi affirmed that the committee will initiate a broad national dialogue on the draft law. The dialogue will include labor and professional unions, political parties, civil society organizations, economists and experts, representatives of the private sector, and retirees, in addition to launching an electronic platform that will allow citizens to submit their opinions, remarks, and suggestions regarding the draft.
He noted that this step aims to expand community participation in the drafting of legislation and enhance transparency and trust in the social security system, which is considered one of the most important pillars of social protection in the Kingdom.
