The Israeli military announced on Monday morning that it launched strikes targeting "regime infrastructure" in central Iran. This marks the first such announcement since the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.

Powerful explosions rocked the Iranian capital on Monday as the war with Israel and the United States continues for its tenth day. While the exact nature of the targets in Tehran remains unclear, the blasts were heard across the city.
In a brief statement issued shortly after announcing strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Israeli military confirmed its forces had "commenced an additional wave of strikes on infrastructure belonging to the Iranian regime in central Iran." According to the statement, the targets included a missile engine production facility and several long-range ballistic missile launch sites.
The military stated it continues to expand its strikes against the military infrastructure of the Law Enforcement Forces (LEF) and the Basij. Key targets included the "Provincial Corps Command Headquarters" and the "LEF Command Headquarters" in Isfahan, a "base used by the Revolutionary Guard and Basij," and the "Revolutionary Guard Police Command Headquarters."
The statement described the Iranian LEF and Basij as "part of the forces belonging to the Iranian terrorist regime that have practiced terrorism for many years" and "regularly suppressed and used extreme violence against Iranian citizens."
Retaliatory Cluster Missile Strike
Israeli media reported that Iran launched a cluster missile toward central Israel, resulting in casualties. Magen David Adom, Israel's emergency medical service, reported two serious injuries in the town of Yehud near Ben Gurion Airport, east of Tel Aviv. Channel 14, citing emergency services, reported additional injuries in the city of Yahud, north of Tel Aviv, while other reports confirmed the cluster missile landed in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv.
Israel and the United States have been conducting airstrikes on Iran since Saturday, February 28, following the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran has since retaliated with missile and drone strikes across Israel and the region. Iran has also enforced a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, targeting oil tankers. Meanwhile, Hezbollah's involvement since March 1 has escalated into an open war in Lebanon, with devastating Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs. — (AFP)
