Petra - Chairperson of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), Fares Brizat, on Monday held talks with the Ambassador of South Korea to Jordan, Kim Pil-woo, focusing on strengthening tourism collaboration, enhancing tourism offerings, and increasing South Korean visitor numbers to Petra and Jordan. The discussions highlighted opportunities to position Petra as a key destination for cultural and religious tourism within the South Korean market, leveraging its historical and religious significance. They also examined strategies to improve training and capacity building in tourism marketing for the Petra region. Kim lauded Jordan’s initiatives to advance its tourism infrastructure, particularly the launch of the "Dark Valley Trail," a distinctive route that combines adventure tourism with an exploration of Bedouin cultural heritage. The ambassador underscored his country's commitment to supporting Jordan's tourism sector, citing initiatives such as the donation of two electric buses to enhance sustainable transport for tourists.
