Netherlands thanks Jordan for helping evacuate Dutch mission from Sudan

AMMAN Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra has thanked Jordan for helping to evacuate its mission staff from Sudan, which has been witnessing armed clashes for two weeks, according to Al-Mamlaka TV. اضافة اعلان

The Dutch ambassador to Sudan, Irma van Dueren, and staff from the Dutch foreign ministry and the Dutch Ministry of Defense were hosted by Jordan.

In a tweet, Hoekstra expressed his gratitude to the Jordanian government and Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi.

He also thanked him for hosting the Dutch ambassador and staff, and for their hospitality. “Thanks to this hospitality, they were able to monitor the situation in Sudan,” he said.

Jordan stands by the NetherlandsIn response, Safadi stated that the safe evacuation of the Dutch mission staff from Sudan was the least his country could do. He added that Jordan stands by the Netherlands, and that they are friends and partners.

He also said that Jordan prays for the safe and successful repatriation of all foreign residents of Sudan, as well as for the safety of the Sudanese people and the stability of their country.

In a later tweet, Hoekstra noted that the Netherlands had joined international efforts to evacuate its citizens from Sudan.
