Government ministers tendered their resignations to Prime Minister
Bisher Al-Khasawneh on Wednesday ahead of a Cabinet reshuffle, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

This will be the
fifth reshuffle since Khasawneh was appointed prime minister on October 7,
2020, taking over from Omar Al-Razzaz.
On November 12,
2020, the prime minister announced the first amendment to his Cabinet, which
saw then-minister of interior Tawfiq Halalmeh resign. Samir Mubaideen assumed
the position of interior minister on December 2, 2020.
A Royal decree
issued on February 28, 2021 accepted the resignations of Mubaideen and minister
of justice Bassam Talhouni.
Khasawneh’s first
major Cabinet reshuffle took place on March 7, 2021, and involved 10 ministers
including water, culture, transport, justice, agriculture, education and higher
education, labor, and interior, as well as ministers of state for legal affairs
and media affairs.
Following an oxygen
outage at
Al-Hussein Hospital in Salt, minister of health Nathir Obeidat
resigned on March 13, 2021. A Royal decree on March 29 appointed Feras
Al-Hawari as health minister and Yousef Al-Shamali as minister of labor.
This will be the fifth reshuffle since Khasawneh was appointed prime minister on October 7, 2020, taking over from Omar Al-Razzaz.
On October 11,
2021, Khasawneh’s Cabinet underwent another reshuffle, involving nine
ministers. A Royal decree appointed Wajih Owais as education and higher
education minister, Saleh Kharabsheh as energy minister, Yousef Shamali as industry
minister, Faisal Shboul as minister of state for media affairs, Haifa Najjar
culture minister, Wafaa Bani Mustafa as minister of state for legal affairs,
Muawieh Radaideh as environment minister, Khairy Amr as investment minister,
and Nayef Steitieh as labor minister.
On April 5, a Royal
decree accepted the resignation of minister of political and parliamentary
affairs Musa Maaytah following his appointment as Chairman of the Board of
Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission. Another Royal decree was
issued to approve the assignment of Tawfiq Kreishan, deputy prime minister and
minister of local administration, as minister of state for political and
parliamentary affairs.
