The Ministry is organizing the activities of the Second National Employment Day in partnership with UNICEF and with support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the "Prospects" partnership. The event is held across 15 locations in the Kingdom—including 4 sites in the capital and the remaining distributed across all governorates—from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Around 700 institutions and companies from various private sector industries and economic activities are participating. These include private education, services and finance, tourism, telecommunications, the industrial sector, logistics, and security and protection companies. The total number of available opportunities across all job fairs nationwide is approximately 9,000 jobs.

Katamine stated that "the government is working within the Economic Modernization Vision to implement policies and initiatives aimed at boosting youth employment and developing their capabilities in line with the new requirements of the labor market, in addition to enhancing women's economic participation." He added that the Second National Employment Day came as a result of a true partnership with the private sector, which is the main employer of youth of both genders, praising the response of private sector companies that participated in this national day to increase the employment of Jordanians in the labor market.

He emphasized that one of the Ministry of Labor's top priorities is employing Jordanians by networking male and female job seekers with private sector employers inside the Kingdom. He also noted that the Ministry is keen on providing a suitable environment for persons with disabilities and for women to increase their participation in the labor market, ensuring they receive full labor privileges and rights.

For his part, UNICEF Representative to Jordan, Marc Rubin, said: "Behind every number today is the story of a young man or woman looking for an opportunity to build their future. Our mission is to extend these opportunities to everyone, especially women, persons with disabilities, and youth in underprivileged communities, because every young person in Jordan has the right to find their path from learning to earning."

He added: "Our partnership with the Ministry of Labor does not stop at a single day. The National Employment Day is an essential part of UNICEF's 'Learning to Earning' agenda." He pointed out that through this agenda, they seek to strengthen the national employment system via sustainable institutional partnerships that provide youth with opportunities for skill development, employment, and economic empowerment. This ensures that the impact of these efforts extends beyond a single-day event toward national employment systems capable of serving youth sustainably. He added that this day represents another model of the importance of the strategic partnership with the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the "Prospects" partnership to support youth in Jordan to achieve their ambitions and contribute to building the present.

In turn, the Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Pierre de Vries, said: "Supporting the Jordanian government's goal of providing more job opportunities for youth and equipping them with the necessary skills to access the labor market is a key priority for the Netherlands. Through the 'Prospects' partnership funded by the Dutch government, we aim to enhance access to decent work for all in Jordan, including members of host communities and Syrian refugees."

It is worth noting that following the conclusion of the Second National Employment Day activities, the Ministry of Labor and UNICEF will follow up on employment outcomes, analyze participation data, and link job seekers to national employment services. This includes the National Employment Program, the National Employment Platform "Sajjil", and vocational training pathways.

The organization of the Second National Employment Day this year comes just ahead of the World Youth Skills Day, which falls on July 15, reaffirming the pivotal role of skill development, education, and technical and vocational training in enhancing youth employability and supporting sustainable economic growth.
