Jordan’s trade deficit rises through August 2021

AMMAN — From the beginning of 2021 until the end August, the Jordan’s trade deficit increased by 27.9 percent, reaching JD5.370 billion, compared to JD4.199 billion during the same period last year, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

By the end of August, the total value of exports increased by 13.7 percent, to reach JD4.127 billion, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to JD3,630 billion, according to a monthly report from the Department of Statistics.

In addition, the value of national exports rose by 15.9 percent, to JD3.74 billion, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to JD3.231 billion.

The value of re-exported items amounted to JD381.8 million, a decrease of 4.3 percent, compared to the same period last year, in which it amounted to JD399 million, according to the report.

As for imports, they rose by 21.3 percent by the end of August, reaching JD9.497 billion, compared to the same period last year, which amounted to JD7.830 billion.

Monthly, the value of national exports to Jordan increased by 11.4 percent by August 2021, reaching JD548.8 million, compared to JD492.6 million during August of 2020.

The trade balance deficit is the difference between the value of imports and the value of total exports.
