Inspection teams close factories in Zarqa

AMMAN — The director-general of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, Nizar Mahmoud Mhaidat on Monday said that inspection teams had seized three tonnes of flour, wheat, and spices that contained insects and mites in Zarqa Governorate, according to Al-Ghad daily.اضافة اعلان

The factory was closed as a precaution and the stakeholders were referred to the public prosecution.

Mohidat added that the inspection team also seized and destroyed half a tonne of expired chicken and liver in Zarqa, indicating that they closed the facility and referred the stakeholders to the public prosecution.

In the same context, Mahadat pointed out that nine tonnes of dairy and cheese were destroyed inside a cheese and dairy factory in Zarqa.

Mohidat stressed that the administration will not tolerate any violations that affect the health and safety of food, and that it will continue to work to ensure the protection of citizens' health and safety.
